Paretosophy … what & why?

Paretosophy … what & why?

Let’s start with the what … so what is Paretosophy?

Paretosophy is a blog that discusses how to become more efficient at squeezing the juice out of life! Every area of your life can be impacted by adopting the theory of the Pareto principle and putting it into practice. The Pareto principle states that roughly 80% of effects come from 20% of causes. It is a rule of thumb often found in business where approximately 80% of sales are generated from 20% of customers, and 80% of complaints from 20% of customers. A specific example of this: Microsoft noted that by fixing the top 20% of the most-reported bugs, 80% of the related errors and crashes in a given system would be eliminated*.

But Paretosophy is not a business focused blog, it is a life focused blog! There are so many areas where Paretosophy will provide insight … Love, Friendship, Family, Fitness, Health, Finances … you name it we will explore how focusing on a small number of key actions can, and will, yield a high number of results.

Paretosophy is, therefore, a discussion of, and a guide to, productivity & efficiency in YOUR life. As such YOUR interaction is vital in achieving this. YOUR feedback, questions and requests via Comments on this Blog and on Social Media will shape the content we provide and ultimately determine the direction Paretosophy takes. Please think of Paretosophy as your personalised blog.

And now to the why … why was Paretosophy created?

The concept that 20% of your actions are responsible for 80% of the results in your life is an extremely appealing one … but it’s only through identifying and then taking the appropriate actions that these benefits can be realised. Paretosophy has been created so we can all gain the peace of mind enjoyed by leading a more efficient and more productive life.

We’re all acutely aware that time is an extremely precious commodity, therefore any methods that enable us to achieve more in less time are invaluable. Mental energy and peace of mind are at least as important and it is perhaps in these areas where Paretosophy will have the greatest impact on your life. Too often we experience overwhelm and confusion when faced with too much choice or too many things on which to focus … so we don’t take any action … we procrastinate … or we try to take on too much, experience overwhelm and give up. That is why the next article will focus on the Paradox of Choice … until then.
